CUET UG is now the single gateway to Delhi University, BHU, Jamia, Allahabad and more than 250 other central, state and private universities. The paper rewards accuracy and speed far more than it rewards extra reading, which is why a plain, repeatable study routine beats long unstructured hours.

Understand what CUET actually tests

CUET is a domain-plus-aptitude paper, not a second board exam. Your score depends on three things.

• Domain subjects drawn almost entirely from the NCERT Class 12 syllabus
• A General Test covering quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning and current affairs
• A language section that tests reading comprehension speed, vocabulary and grammar

Pick your subjects before you pick your books

Every university lists the exact domain subjects it accepts for each course. Shortlist four or five target courses first, then choose the subject combination that keeps all of them open.

• Check the eligibility grid of each university you are targeting
• Prefer subjects you are already studying in school so revision is shared
• Keep one safe, scoring subject in the combination

A weekly plan that works alongside school

• Two hours a day on the domain subject being taught in school that week
• Forty-five minutes daily on the General Test — quant one day, reasoning the next
• Thirty minutes of reading every day: an editorial, a long article, a passage
• One sectional test mid-week, reviewed the same evening
• One full-length mock on the weekend, with error analysis on Monday

Master the NCERT before anything else

Most CUET domain questions are direct or one-step applications of an NCERT line. Read each chapter three times: once to understand, once to make a one-page summary, once to answer every in-text and back exercise question without looking.

Build speed with timed practice

Marks are lost to the clock, not to difficulty.

• Practise in 15-minute blocks with a visible timer
• Track accuracy per section, not just total score
• Skip and return: never spend more than 90 seconds on a single question
• Maintain an error log and revisit it every Sunday
